Job Description
Compensation: $90K to $110K
Summary:
The Industrial Lean Process Engineer will provide engineering support and development in the implementation of continuous improvement projects, process improvements, cost reductions, space planning, ergonomics, and work flow. This role will lead and manage lean/process improvement projects to eliminate waste and meet business objectives which focus on the customer and support the quality management systems with sustainable process improvement.
Duties:
Analysis of workflow/process to identify opportunities for quality, delivery, and productivity improvement
Establishment and leadership of a robust ergonomics program to improve safety
Collaboration with operations leadership and engagement of the workforce in sustainable solutions; lead workgroups through the application of structured problem solving techniques and lean concepts
Plan, develop and implement process changes that yield improved operations metrics SQDP
Work both independently on projects and in collaboration with others to analyze, design and implement process improvements using structured problem solving techniques and lean concepts
Manage multiple projects simultaneously; make judgment calls to assign priority and give clear direction
Identify, justify, and coordinate the implementation of capital improvement projects
Analyze workflow process data to reduce waste and non-value added activities
Evaluate equipment and process capabilities to make recommendations for future improvements
Run and lead Kaizen Events
Act as a general consultant to support the operations leadership team
Lead and facilitate Kaizen events to achieve strategic business targets in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth
Equip/Lead/Coach/Mentor Kaizen facilitators and participants in support of the Growtth initiative
Manage multiple priorities; ensure timely and successful completion of projects and provide on-going feedback and progress reports as required
Provide expertise in statistical tools and systems/process auditing
Support quality investigations to ensure that root cause is understood and effective countermeasures are put in place
Evaluate work load through time studies to inform workforce utilization plan, space requirements, and layout of equipment for maximum efficiency
Provide expertise and recommendations for ergonomic job improvements to reduce risk of injuries
Develop, update and maintain AutoCAD layouts for the floor plan of the facility
Qualifications:
BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree required
Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment
Experience in facilitating and leading project teams to attain results is required
Outstanding problem solving, project management, and change management skills are required
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are required to interact effectively with site management and workforce associates
ASQ (or equivalent) or Certified Six Sigma/Lean Green Belt highly desired with experience driving process improvement or Kaizen related continuous improvement events and strategies
