Job Summary
Perform various manual and mechanical duties to provide assistance in the set up and operation of the laminator. Duties include: checking glue, cleaning laminator components, loading/unloading film, maintaining work area, and other similar duties to assist in the operation of the laminator.
Duties require verbal communications skills; visual acuity to glue lay down and machine operation; manual coordination and dexterity in the use of basic hand tools; and the physical ability to lift various weights, climb ladders, bend and stoop, and to work around operating machinery.
Essential Job Functions
1. Assist Operators in setup of laminators for operation. Obtain the required adhesives for specific job. Assist in set up of lay down roller. Assist in loading film.
2. Perform routine laminator maintenance and cleaning. Wash components to remove all glue. Scrape components as necessary, utilize acetate as necessary, etc. Reinstall clean components to laminator. Assist Operator in other duties.
3. Assist in the operation of the laminator. Monitor glue consumption and notify operator. Assist load/unload film. Cut and set up roll cores for new film rolls. Take product samples and print labels as requested by operator. Monitor product quality during operator absence or other preoccupation, as experience and training allows.
4. Maintain work area. Sweep film debris from laminator area and empty waste containers. Strip waste product off cores. Empty and weigh waste.
5. Follow all established safety rules and regulations and utilize required safety equipment. Detect improper machinery operations and/or any unsafe conditions and report to appropriate personnel. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform other similar duties as required or as requested by supervisor.
