Bass Player Needed for Serious Band in Reno, Nevada For Sale

Vienna is a rock band walking a line between the genres of Indie Rock and Alternative Rock. We put a Hard Rock spin on the music by placing strong emphasis on guitar driven melodies and solos, powerful and charismatic vocals, as well as a wide range of song types and topics. We want to diversify our music while still keeping a familiar sound that our fans can remember and associate with us. Influences range from modern bands, all the way to classic contemporary rock groups.
Vienna has been around now for almost a year and has created 9 songs, played for open mic venues and various fundraisers, and has just secured a schedule for paid performances. We treat the band like a business and have an excellent balance between the creative art of the music and the results oriented drive of making the band successful. Vienna is currently seeking and holding auditions for a skilled bass player to compliment the current guitarist, drummer and male vocalist. We recently lost our last bass player due to lack of a time commitment to the band.
We are looking for the following skills:
• Candidates need to have good fundamental bass playing skills (we would like your practices to focus on learning songs, not learning how to play)
• Preferably plays primarily without a pick, but not required
• Must have own bass guitar, regardless of quality
• It is a requirement to be a bass player, NOT a guitar player that decided to play bass
• Must be available for band practices, meetings and gigs (we are flexible about schedules but expect members can set aside one hour per week for a meeting, and a few hours together for practice together per week on a consistent basis)
• Must be flexible enough (and have enough control in your life) to be available for shows -- no exceptions. The show must go on!
• Expected to present ideas for marketing and administering the band at meetings.
• Must have at least enough time on your own to practice your parts so valuable group practices are productive.
Currently, we have band practice every Wednesday and would prefer someone who will be able to participate in that on that day. We also will have gigs on other days, mostly Fridays and Saturdays at night, but candidates will need to be flexible and be available to perform when needed. We will mostly have plenty of notice for performances, but have a policy of never turning down a chance to perform regardless of notice.
All band members must be serious about the band and treat the band as a priority. We understand working around steady job schedules, school and families but expect all candidates to treat the band as an equal obligation. You must be dedicated to the band and ready to put in as much of your own time as needed. The band's success is your success!
