This position will be an integral part of the Local Programming team, which acquires local programming content from regional and national broadcast partners. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing support and analysis across the range of work provided by the team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
Managing and monitoring multi-million dollar budget including responsibility for analyzing and communicating budget variances. Performing financial analysis and modeling to support the deal team in their negotiations with broadcasters. Responsible for assuring programming payment accuracy including review of underlying contracts and direct interaction with broadcasters. Scanning, analyzing and synthesizing trends in the entertainment industry, including M&A activity, subscriber trending and viewer ratings.
Skills - Experience and Requirements:
A successful Financial Analyst for our Local programming business will have the following:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and 3+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with international or domestic content retransmission companies like Comcast, Time Warner, DirecTV, Cox, Charter, MSO, Hulu, Netflix, FiOS is a plus, but not a requisite Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office programs; Detail oriented with ability to review and analyze large volume of data. Ability to analyze problems involving several variables in standardized situations and comfortable reading and understanding contract language. High energy, positive attitude, and thrives on working in fast paced environment with ability to multi-task; Self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on team assignments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills: comfortable communicating with upper management; Excellent interpersonal skills: highly focused on building and maintaining strong internal and external business relationships.
