The Instructional Design & Curriculum Development Specialist (IDCD) ensures that the Charter College curriculum is current to prepare students for the career skills required in their program of study. This includes leading the process by which curriculum is continually developed, evaluated, and revised, with special focus on delivering coursework and programs in blended and online formats. The IDCDS leads the conversion of coursework and programs from an in-classroom and/or online delivery to blended delivery, with emphasis on maintaining consistency between delivery formats while simultaneously taking advantage of various teaching methods to achieve to maximize the student experience in the learning environment. In addition, the IDCDS assist in the implementation of programs at existing and new campuses. This position also assist in training faculty on various content components in program/course curriculum. The Instructional Design Specialist (IDCDS) reports to the Manager of Instructional Design and Curriculum Development (MIDCD). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design, create, revise and structure content, activities, and materials for an online and blended format with a focus on instructional delivery methods that are best suited for the learning environment and student experience. Work with Subject Matter Experts to assist with the development of content that supports what students need to learn, sequencing of the content, and development of content. Ensure curriculum is up to date and relevant to the career skills required for the program/course. Develop objectives and ensure content matches those objectives. Develop and maintain a syllabus for each course. Revise and rewrite content as need to ensure the desired learning outcomes are achievable. Create/acquire media to support the content and learning environment. Develop assessments for content, materials, and learning activities. Interact with publishers and/or third party sources to procure resource material to enhance the quality of the course content and instructional delivery. Assist in preparing faculty to deliver the curriculum. Ensure that the curriculum is aligned with external certifications and/or programmatic accreditation where appropriate. Other duties as assigned. JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS Master's degree (instructional design, curriculum development, or other related field) and three (3) years of postsecondary teaching experience preferred. Bachelor's degree (instructional design, curriculum development, or other related field) and three (3) years of postsecondary teaching experience required. Experience with face-to-face, blended and/or online curriculum development. Experience with learning management systems, preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with variety of instructional staff across core subject areas. Microsoft Office skills required.
