Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH and S) Manager
you will be tasked with many challenging opportunities that will contribute to the overall growth of the business. This is an exciting time for James Hardie and you could play a large part by providing expertise and counseling for all safety related issues affecting plant operations. RESPONSIBILITIES :
:
Provides direction to the site on improvement strategies and feedback on safety performance to the plant management team and Supervisors on an on:going basis
:
Your coaching and counseling skills will help managers develop skills to improve crews and managers engagement in the safety process
:
You can play a dramatic role in impacting our business by managing and facilitating the plants safety education program
:
Your excellent communication skills and your ability to build relationships will help promote the overall safety awareness of the facility
:
Your knowledge of environmental programs will enable you to ensure compliance with State and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulatory requirements
QUALIFICATIONS :
:
Ability to understand, comply with and communicate state or federal safety and health OSHA regulations and environmental regulations (EPA)
:
Knowledge and ability to update safety policies and procedures manuals
:
Ability to coach personnel on how to perform audits of job sites, manufacturing, and plant operations
:
Ability to assist with safety:related training as needed
:
Ability to coach personnel on how to thoroughly investigate accidents and development of effective corrective action recommendations
:
Ability to manage the flow of all required reports and documentation
:
Demonstrated intermediate skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software)
:
Sound judgment, problem solving and critical thinking skills
:
Ability to thrive in a fast:paced environment
:
Ability to deliver sustainable and superior results
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :
:
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a related field
:
Five plus years of Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity
:
Three plus years experience managing employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, training, and recruitment
:
Bachelors Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or Industrial Hygiene
:
Five or more years of manufacturing experience working as an EH and S professional
:
Experience leading, mentoring and coaching in manufacturing organizations
